As part of the NZ Green Building Week 2019, the first project we are profiling is a two-storey home on Herald Island dubbed ‘The Mangrove home’. Charissa Snijders was the architect and Lautrec provided the structural engineering. We started the project in 2015 and construction was completed this year.
23rd September to 29th September is World Green Building Week.
Denis Pino is the latest edition to the Auckland office. He will taking on the role of Technical Manager.

Jacqueline McElhinney from Rapport Communications joined us for the day as part of our annual planning session. She worked with us as a team and individually looking at our personalities and how this impacts our behaviours and interactions. We were also given different tools for communicating with different personality types. The team got a lot out of the session.
We are proud to be partnering with Oxfam New Zealand on FLOW which is focused on improving the health, resilience and quality of life for remote and vulnerable communities, particularly women and children, in rural Papua New Guinea (PNG). Fraser Avenue Apartments is the latest project with NZ Living. This five three-storey apartment block is currently in Building Consent.
This is the second project where we have provided the structural design for NZ Living.
Lautrec has been in Christchurch for eight years. Our presence in Christchurch began immediately after the 2011 earthquake with Kevin volunteering and assisting the USAR teams. Fast forward to 2019 where we have a team of three in the Christchurch office on Gloucester Street which is lead by Fraser Knott.

Ernest Wong is the newest member to join the Lautrec family. He will be based in our Auckland office and will be part of the structural team. Ernest interned at Lautrec over the summer of 2017/2018 and we are pleased to have him back as a Graduate Engineer.
In his spare time he likes to listen to music, play the piano or watch and play basketball.
