One of our Directors’, Kevin Brown, was in Christchurch last week for an event to celebrate Lautrec being in Christchurch for eight years.
Our presence in Christchurch began immediately after the 2011 earthquake with Kevin volunteering and assisting the USAR teams. Kevin and Ah Seng Chew then went on to work with a consortium of structural engineers from Auckland, Wellington and Wanaka, coordinated by Wanaka firm Bachelor McDougall Consulting (BMC). These engineers proceeded for the next two years to provide expert assessment advice for CERA and Christchurch City Council. In 2014 we had our first permanent employee in Christchurch, Yiannis, and he was stationed in the Inovo office to begin with. We now have a team of three in the Christchurch office on Gloucester Street which is lead by Fraser Knott.
Over the past eight years our team has carried out hundreds of assessments and the resulting remedial work. Our façade work can also be seen throughout the CBD. The city has seen a lot of change with new buildings popping up everywhere. However, the Cathedral is a clear reminder of 22 February, 2011 but the Cathedral Rebuild is on track to commence 2020 with the appointment of Holmes Consulting and Warren and Mahoney Architects as the new engineers and architects.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years.
