On 30th June, Lautrec had their annual planning day. This is where the Christchurch and Auckland office come together reflect on the past year, reaffirm what values are important to our Organisation and plan for the following years.
This year was special as we worked with Awataha Marae to develop a cultural programme for the first part of the day. We are proud as an Organisation to have such a diverse and multi-cultural workforce. We also feel it is important for staff to be introduced to Māori culture. After the pōwhiri, we played a game using rākau (sticks), learned an action song and learned to weave a putiputi (flower) out of harakeke (flax). Not only was it a fun way to introduce us to Tikanga Māori but it also reminded us of the importance to work together as one. It seemed to bring us closer together and it was a memorable experience for all.
