Lautrec is thrilled to announce our involvement with one of the most dramatic works at the annual Waiheke Sculpture on the Gulf exhibition: Cognitive Reorientation, by renowned artist Eddie Clemens (https://sotg.nz/artists/eddie-clemens/)

Our innovative Team rose to the challenge of finding a safe, simple, and cost-effective way to secure the tower and 1986 Mitsubishi Debonair V3000 Regal car for its journey across the harbour and during its display on the mooring in Matiatia Bay, Waiheke for the duration of the exhibition.

Picture this: metal, pumps, hoses, and a generator converging to create a captivating display, all aboard a barge bound for Waiheke.

Inspired by the gripping Nordic-noir crime series, Forbrydelsen, Clemens’s masterpiece captures a pivotal moment from the show, immortalizing it in art. Just like in the series, where suspense hangs thick in the air, his sculpture suspends disbelief, with water cascading endlessly from the car’s every opening, enveloping it in a mesmerizing dystopian aura.

We are incredibly proud to have played a part in blending creativity and engineering to breathe life into this extraordinary vision.
