About the project: Te Oro is the Music and Arts Centre in Glen Innes that has become an iconic piece in the suburb. Two different aluminium panels were used: tray panel and fixed cassette. Trusses were used to support the panels which allowed for the curved look of the building
Over the past three years, Te Oro has won a number of awards for its design, including Supreme Winner in the Nga Aho category which recognises the collaborative practice of ‘co-design’ when working within and between cultures and the Purple Pin, an award which acknowledges work that raises the standard of New Zealand design.
