Felix joined the Lautrec team as a graduate structural engineer in April and has quickly settled in to the office. We welcome Felix and his fresh knowledge to Lautrec.

What do you like doing in your spare time?
This depends on my mood and energy levels. If I’m full of energy, I love to explore the city or hang out with my friends. If I’m feeling exhausted, I generally watch movies or play video games with my friends.

What factors contributed to you wanting to become an engineer?
I’ve always been interested in architecture and structures. When I was in high school, I was interested in a course called Design and Visual Communication. Some of the course assignments required me to design buildings based on my imagination. Since then, I became curious about the foundations and supporting structures behind the fancy architecture, which led me to structural engineering.

What attracted you to working with us?
The inclusive and collaborative working environment attracted me to work at Lautrec. Lautrec also provides the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects. Additionally, the Auckland Head Office has a magnificent view, which is a great attraction.

Is there a book or movie that has made an impact on your life?
The movie “The Pursuit of Happyness” definitely inspired me “many of life’s failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up.”

What are some of the takeaways from 2022 so far?
Since remote working became a normality, the importance of communication and time management is significant. Effective plans can increase my focus and improve productivity.
